Psychotherapy

Psychotherapy is a process of talking together, that aims to relieve deeply held feelings of distress, depression, anxiety or confusion. As a therapist, I work to support the emergence of new feelings, thoughts and behaviours that connect with and express a person’s clearest sense of who they are or wish to be.

In therapy, I offer an opportunity to create together a trusting relationship, in which I aim for my clients to feel a felt sense of being attuned to, understood without judgement, empathised with, and appropriately challenged. Together we work to understand how they became the person they are, and to explore what they might wish to change or develop within themselves.

My aim as therapist is that together we can explore these changes and the things that stand in the way to them, at their depths of thinking, feeling, and bodily experience. In doing so, clients develop within themselves new capacities to nurture and protect themselves, to soothe their feelings, to manage their thinking and to understand, appreciate and relate healthily to the other people in their lives.
