Beren Aldridge TSTA MSc

I have worked in private practice since 2005 offering psychotherapy and counselling. I am both a Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst and a Certified Transactional Analyst, which qualify me for registration with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)as a psychotherapist. I am also listed on the UKCP Supervision Directory.

I have worked in mental health throughout my career. In 2004 I was one of the founders of Growing Well, a mental health charity based at Low Sizergh Farm, which combines organic growing with mental health recovery.  I manged the charity for ten years from its inception, alongside my work as psychotherapist in private practice. In 2014 I founded an NHS funded therapeutic community for people with diagnoses of personality disorder within Growing Well, which I managed and worked within as a psychotherapist for the four years that the programme ran for.

Since 2018 I have balanced the roles of psychotherapist, supervisor of other therapists and counsellors, and trainer of psychotherapists. I am currently a member of the teaching faculty at the TA Organisation, a psychotherapy training institute in Leeds where I teach trainee psychotherapists on both the Foundation and Advanced Clinical programmes.

I am a professional member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy, the UK Association for Transactional Analysis (UKATA), the European Association of Transactional Analysis (EATA), and the International Transactional Analysis Association(ITAA).

I represent the UK in the Council of EATA and within that role I am a member of the EATA Commission of Certification, which organises the exmaintions for Transactional Analysts throughout Europe. In the UK I am a member of UKATA’s Training Accreditation and Standards Committee which regulates the training of TA in the UK.

I have a BSc from King’s College, London in Physics and Philosophy and a MSc from City University, London in Disability Management and Vocational Rehabilitation.

I grew up in the Lake District, and worked and studied in London and the USA before returning to the area. I am married with three children.
